I am doing some research on flux free/flux less SMT reflow soldering. Do you have any equipent/process recommendations? Does anybody use it for volume production and what are the constraints (finish, balls, paste, vacuum, pressure, size)? What is

Most PCB manufacturers should be able to fall between 1.25um-5.00um for Pb-Free HASL. I doubt you will get anyone to agree to anything higher. If you are going to require an average thickness, make sure you also state "No Copper exposure allowed".

We are having issues with top fill and dropping pins on Molex connectors with our KISS 101. Unfortunately we do not have a pre heater and bottom side pre heat with our nozzles is not satisfactory. Most of the issues occur when using a no clean proces

Tom, has your company started to convert your BOMS? How is your company doing it? Yes, I think that is on most peoples minds, how to do the BOM conversions is the main worry, and I think that it just boggs some companies down so they dont do anyt

| I require some feed back from any one who knows about using a voc free flux in a nitrogen wave solder machine soldering both through hle and smt componants. | What disadvantages are there when using this flux? | Do you have any contact details with

Ther is a solder alloy out there that is supposed to allow lead free wave processing without having to upgrade pumps and such or increasing the pot temp (direct drop in). I have not used it nor do I plan on doing leadfree wave soldering but you may

Hello, I found the previous discussion of lead free profiles on 5 zone ovens very interesting. I had the same concerns, but have recently succeeded in creating profiles on a 5 Zone QUAD oven that have eliminated solder splatter or Solder on Gold w

Hi all We recently have a problem with component in package 0805 (capasitor 100nF). I have noticed that after reflow soldering only one lead of the component is soldered. The second one is just laying on the PCB land. We use screen printing process

Glenn, There are both very good VOC-Free fluxes as well as alcohol based fluxes out there. This should be your primary focus if you are so lucky as to have to opportunity to actually select a flux! The use of nitrogen will benefit any no-clean pro
