Also try boosting the bottom zones up to get extra heat in. Now try this at lead free temperatures & watch them go pop as the air inside expands & vents at the base. O to be in America & be free of our wonderful european decision makers.

Patrick told you why, But here is some more info for ya, I would absolutely not recommend that wires be tinned with OA. The residue will never get cleaned underneath the insulation and all of your strands will strt to break in the near/far future.

We are moving from ENIG to Immersion Ag. We notice PCB's with Ag finish getting more heat(increase in peak temp) than the ENIG. Any reasoning behind this phenomenon ? KT

Are you using a standard convection reflow oven ? This does not make any sense. I have never heard of anything like this. If you are using a standard oven, then I would say that it is time to get your profiler calibrated.

Im not fimiluar with SIEMENS F5 but I believe that lead length devations translate to coplnary devations. As a lead gets bent inward or outward the coplnary changes. I dont know what the ratio is but you may be able to set tolorances for lead length

Where are people getting their high temp solder? I've found it before, but the price and minimum quantities were ridiculous.

Are we talking about reflowing the two boards together after the one gets the solderballs reflowed onto it?

Don't switch to other vendors or suppliers. Stick with Cam/Alot. It's reliable and repeatable and besides you know the system well now. If you get a different brand you have to start again with the sickness of the equipment, learn it again and build
