SOD-323 Issue in Heller oven Parts are moving

Electronics Forum | Wed Aug 22 16:23:06 EDT 2007 | rgduval

I had the lurching issue...turned out I needed to readjust to cog wheels on the exit side of the oven. The cogs had slipped, and the chain was actually getting caught in the teeth...to the point that as the wheel turned, the chain would stay in it i

BGA dropping off underside of board

Electronics Forum | Mon Aug 13 10:00:18 EDT 2007 | ed_faranda

Might want to check to see if the weight of your part has increased. If it has increased, you may not have enough surface tension to hold the part on the board. I am assuming you already checked that the component isn't getting hit by something in

SMT before through-hole

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 14 15:08:32 EDT 2007 | gmoritz

pick/place head won't travel over the LED's, then you won't be able to proceed. I wasn't clear in describing my board layout; It is LEDs on one side and SMT components on the other side. I don't think we can get around the problem of stenciling

SMT before through-hole

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 14 16:23:31 EDT 2007 | stepheniii

I've never seen them used or even heard of them being used like this but you might want to look at http://www.sipad.com/ You will still have to work out other issues like how to keep the SMT on while you wave the LEDs. Maybe you can get these board

automatic insertion of radial components 3.5mm

Electronics Forum | Mon Aug 20 10:03:48 EDT 2007 | slthomas

Wow. Never have, never would, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be done. Mostly it just seems impossible to design a carrier clip that could hold both well...more likely it would hold one well and the other poorly, or both poorly. Anyway, is there

Smema between GDM & PCT

Electronics Forum | Wed Aug 22 04:29:48 EDT 2007 | raf_jabil

Has anyone experienced intermittent communication issues with GSM/GDM and PCT conveyors? I have an intermittent issue where sometimes I would hit the ESTOP on the PCT conveyor(downstream) in order to get the board to eject out of the GSM/GDM. I have

Solder Balls and Humidity

Electronics Forum | Thu Aug 23 16:28:14 EDT 2007 | grics

I want to get a collective opinion from the forum... I was always under the impression that Humidity at SMT can be a disaster and can cause solder balls... But what about at the Wave/Selective solder? If every board or almost every board has solder

DI water testing?

Electronics Forum | Mon Aug 27 12:34:54 EDT 2007 | rgduval

Dave, I'd be skeptical too, with that response! I've got a Culligan DI system installed here, and it's got it's own resistivity test meter. When the light goes red, it's time to call and get my resin changed. It's worked out pretty well here. Ba

BTU VIP98 Calibration

Electronics Forum | Mon Aug 27 12:33:46 EDT 2007 | emilio1

Hello everyone; I was wondering if anyone has/knows where to get, VIP98 FCU calibration procedure. I know its a long shot but need to calibrate a few ovens and wed like to see if its possible to do this in house, as we have a calibration lab.

Blowholes during wave soldering

Electronics Forum | Thu Sep 27 10:40:46 EDT 2007 | rgduval

Joris, Yep, very common to have those small blow holes in lead-free alloys. We used to get them very consistently on white-tin finished boards, and less frequently with gold finished boards, for what ever that is worth. IPC-610 actually allows t
