Pb free vapor soldering

Electronics Forum | Thu Dec 22 15:36:03 EST 2005 | CC

In general two step temperature reflow process requires minimum 40 deg C delta to be sucessful. We are not using vapor phase soldering but we have similar situation when we change to SAC lead free solder for PCB component population and secondary swe

Yes, that's why wiper system metal material has been changed to stainless steel. There is an approved solvent list on the Speedline Tech web site. Go to: http://www.speedlinetech.com/news_publications/application-notes.aspx?OnId=5 Then go down to

I worked for a EMS who makes Medical Device Electronics, and yeah, the FDA's methodology for validation is a complete cluster-fudge! They did it on the principle of...does the shop air going into your equipment REALLY 80 PSI...or is there REALLY 220

Electronics industry has already greatly reduced lead use

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 24 13:35:53 EST 2006 | bvdb

If one considers that a computer used to fill a good sized room and now can sit in/on your hand I would say that the electronics industry has already greatly reduced the use of lead. Microelectronics keeps getting smaller with fewer interconnects

Hi Steve, Although your opinion is valid, calling something from a respected Japanese manufacturer crap is a little harsh. I have seen many people solder very well with all sorts of leadfree alloys - not producing crap. I've already had a play wit

Spray fluxing VOC free, as operation HOURS before wave solder

Good question - as it is a water based flux then you are going to get a very low level of solvent evaporation, and it's hardly going to be absorbing additional water whilst sitting around. (you actually want the water (carrier element) to evaporate).

Hi Basem, The people I know are placing BGAs & down to 0201 with no problems. However the best thing for you to do is get them to demostrate placing your component range, and if you go ahead, draw up a machine acceptance document to form part of th

Steve, We use the 955 version for printing with the DEK Pump Print process on two lines in high volume. We clean the stencils in an ultrasonic bath with Hydrex A+ I think diluted in deionized water at the end of 2nd shift. By startup, they are dry

I finally got something going this morning. I can't even remember how I did it since I've been on several other projects since then, but is seems like it was one of the options on the file menu. I think I had to do a little more work on the directo
