Have you considered a temporary water washable solder mask. Elvaway solder mask tapes have been protecting Gold Fingers during soldering and simply wash away in a water wash process and leaves no residue.

Tony: Have a mask applied by the boardhouse which can be removed after soldering. We worked with pallets or tape but had bad luck with some boards. At present I would prefer a mask. M2C Wolfgang

Try looking for paste contamination somewhere. Dirty stencil, printer table or fixtures. Placement table/fixtures. Reflow belt/conveyer. Reuseable finger covers, if used. Try covering the fingers with Kapton tape during different stages of the proc

Steve i agree with u. we use kapton tapes for test puproses at our facility and they do not interfere with the printing results. Infact we sometimes use it to mask off unwanted apertures on stencil underside. But could their applcation affect the gol
