What are the specs of a Formica type bench top? Gloss or mottled finish? Should the edge be straight, rolled or bull-nosed? Can I get it in ESD safe composition? Can you recommend a good calibrator of formica?

Is there a steadfast rule of thumb for a good solder joint on an Enig Gold board. I come across this number 217C when discussing BGA profiles. Is this a published number? I sure could use a reference. Anybody feedback is appreciated.

Mustard - I would like to suggest you search a more appropriate site for your answer. Maybe a gamers chat room would be helpful. Good luck

Chevron marks are sets of lines (at right angles, on either side of component) placed on the board to help verify placement (we used it on BGA's) since you can't look at lead to pad to check placement accuracy. That's the only time I've seen it used.

Dave, you have a good memory as well as an unhuman mastery of the internet search engine! Thanks, dude, I'll take my hammer, if I can find it. Maybe bring back some garnets....

That is a good idea. I enjoyed meeting some of you at the Nepcon I went to about a year and a half ago.

Can someone please point me to some good technical papers on the Ag Epoxy process covering- printing, dispensing, component placement and curing and on flexible & ridgid substrates too? Are there lots of you out there doing this process? Thx.

Have you looked at TDK's VC series? The newer vintage models are gems (VC7's, etc), but hard to find. Good Luck.
