I have been profiling with the fixture. I have performed multiple DOE runs and came up with the following with success: Cooled soak zone to max 150C for approx 100sec. and spiked reflow zone for max temp of 230C, pcb/panel is above 183C for 64sec.

John, No vacuum. I use tape to hold the flex flat. Panels are hard. Some flexes I do 3 up some 1 up. Larger components that I can get a repeatable location of the flex are 3 up. 0805 and smaller are 1 up always. I talked to a flex house once a

We used durastone pallets, where you mill out the profile of the panel or board and it sits flat for printing. We secured them using 3M spray mount (for singled sided) and Kapton tape. Obviously helps to have bottom side heating in the oven as you

Actually we're using ALPHA METAL Vaculoy 63SN/37Pb solder bars in our WAVE (ELECTROVERT ULTRAPACK 650C). With that solder, we use the ALPHA METAL LONCO SLS 65C flux. With this combination, we have many bridges and sometimes, the solder do not full co

Hi Ing, My suggestion is to take a good look at your profile(s). The Wave solder machine that I use is an Electrovert EPK I. I use Aim ultra pure 63/37 solder with an older kester flux, 920CFX. I recently switched from kester ultrapure to the aim ba

I am using this same flux and haven't had too many problems. I think Russ is steering you right on your wave flow and I would also check the fluxer performance to make sure it's getting to the top of your board. Are you sure these aren't sunken joint

Yes we've had problems with kemet caps on 12mm t/r. By the time it gets replaced, our production schedule gets so screwed up. Our immediate solution was to bypass and place them by hand before reflow. We eventually went with a cross from Venkel and i

With twenty five machines working with the LFB227/S on our little island it does seem to work well. Wetting is good compared to Tin/Copper and flow is comparable to 63/37. Biggest problem sticking 3 - 4 % Ag in a solder ignoring the patents and royal

Fixing your problems needs to be based on hard data. But hard data is difficult to get from humans. They intend to see (and repair) what they e.g. understood best or what is easy to justify. This effect can be eliminated with an AOI. If programmed ri

Mat, Are you sure you should be using SnPb HASL boards if you are doing prep for lead free? If you aren't actually going to comply with RoHS then fire away. Nearly all of our assemblies are now ENIG and as any re-design comes up on a HASL board it is
