Electronics Forum | Mon Apr 06 11:58:42 EDT 2009 | c111

Jeong Ju-young You touched them all up with an iron? Wow! We have also had similar issues. What I did to prove there was a board problem was paste one & reflow one bare board with the same chem (noclean) we saw the non-wetting condition. Then applied

muarty, Each has their place. Rules based systems (algorithm) are harder to program and I have seen post on here with people saying there is no real difference in defect detection. Image based systems are much easier and intutitive to program.

Damaged Components by Reflow Process (Process Window)

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 04 09:58:50 EST 2009 | dyoungquist

As was stated before, you need to have oven temperatures (profile) set such that you get good solder joints with the paste you are using. And definately run a profiler through yor oven to verify it is working properly. As for components, most data

Thank you all for your valuable inputs. Have having done some more investigation we have realized that there is actually no standard as such to which the ROHS components have to be manufactured aside from the contains of substances like PB and al o

Conversion from SAC305 to SN100C

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 04 10:24:05 EST 2009 | dyoungquist

We use SN100C in our selective solder process. The 3 keys to proper hole fill are applying a proper amount of flux, heating of the pcb and solder temperature. If either the pcb or solder is not hot enough, you may not get good hole fill. To adjus

Thank you for support. As i promised you, I am coming back with the results. The SM used was Probimer 77 with Kester 979 flux. The supplier says that there is an incompatibility and we have changed the flux with IF2009M. Same problem! They have chan

Latent shorts on QFN package

It seems familiar, but nothing that I've actually experienced. I've read some articles about tin-whiskering in lead-free solder. I think NASA has some pretty good analysis (or, at least they did a couple of years ago). The summary is that without

Greg, You guys are right, it was a thermistor. I believe the machine was powered up with the wrong voltage. Here is what gets damaged if the transformer is tapped for 230 and you apply 480: 1. Both CPU modules on the MX100 PLC's blown. 2. Both col

Just my opinion but it look's like your doing a great job. i would try another paste. I'm somewhat lucky that we get to use OA's. If your stuck using the no-cleans they are so tempermental. (The nitrogen is making up for the poor paste) Your de-wetti
