USING LEAD FREE PARTS WITH LEAD PASTE

Electronics Forum | Tue Dec 13 12:47:53 EST 2005 | grantp

Hi, No because we don't have the ability to do that, and what is the problem with it? Can you describe what happens and how it's different to soldering a high temp BGA solder ball. My guess is if the solder ball does not melt, then there should be n

Electronics Forum | Sat Dec 17 17:08:13 EST 2005 | grantp

Hi, The issue I see is they don't tell you why the component is not back compatible. We have suppliers telling us all kinds of things right now, and I don't think any of them actually know what's going on. No one seems to have firm research that sa

USING LEAD FREE PARTS WITH LEAD PASTE

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 01 17:03:04 EST 2006 | grantp

Hi, What's the difference between soldering a lead free solder ball BGA onto a footprint with lead solder paste when the ball does not collapse, compared to a lead-less package. The BGA is bigger, but you rely on the solder paste only, seems to work

Where to get large reel 0402 passives?

Electronics Forum | Wed Dec 14 13:15:12 EST 2005 | grantp

Hi, Great, and thanks for the info. I will check it out. It's true lead times are long for large reels, but it's worth it when running. We have much faster machines now, but if we are sopped replacing reels all the time, it cuts into up time in a

Haha Grant, totally agree about the software on the deltawave, why does every recepy not have its own fluxer set? Why does the fluxer speed doesnt change automatically when you change the conveyor speed? They really should think of kicking their so

You may want to take a quick look at the tier one equipment suppliers. Universal and Fuji have some very competitive equipment, not sure about Panasonic and Siemens but they have to be trying to compete as well. We are low volume and never thought we

SN100C vs. SAC 305 wave soldering

Electronics Forum | Thu May 25 19:21:58 EDT 2006 | grantp

Hi, So that's really important to have a specific flux for lead free? We are looking at changing to SN100C after reading this thread and other stuff we have found, so can anyone recommend the best no clean flux for that metal? Do you need differen

Mydata

Electronics Forum | Fri Feb 17 08:38:11 EST 2006 | grantp

Hi, They are ok for very low volume work, and use a single place head with limited component size, however they will do most parts. The good thing is the feeders are identical to the latest machines, so you can keep feeders if you upgrade. They work

Thermal Profiler Batteries

Electronics Forum | Sat Mar 04 03:39:57 EST 2006 | grantp

Hi, I agree, we have a KIC and have run hundreds of profiles and are still running the original battery and have never had a problem. The software is what matters with profilers I think, and the KIC has really good software that shows you a process
