Have you looked at solderquik? Winslow Automation sells them. I've had good luck with them. They are bga preforms with the balls on a water soluble paper.

Has anyone in the industry had even a fair amount of success inspecting reflowed solder joints to IPC class 3 standards? I am not interested in hearing from system reps or people who work for an AOI manufacturer. Thanks,

Hey Neil, How long have we had the new left margin on SMTnet? It looks nice. I just used it to post this. [The "subject" is all there on the forum page, but the rotten mudda "wacked" part of the "subject" when viewing the thread.]

I agree with dry wiping. We have 4 SPM's and 2 AP25's, we have never had a need for solvent. I would be cautious using alcohol/ or alcohol based solvents.

We had this problem not long ago and changed to the remountable foils. They are as good as the orignals but they cost less and are practical to store. All our stencils come from DEK and they have a nice little (overpriced) cupboard, if you're working

We have been using unmounted stencils for 4 years. Easy to store and less expensive. Our stencil supplier gave us a pair of universal mounts for our printers. Watch the sharp edges. We haven't had any cuts but the potential is always there.

We had problems with paste drying out when opened for more than a couple of days. We solved this problem by ordering paste in 250 gram quanities. This is about a third of a jar in the same size container.
