Pretty labor intensive operation as has already been mentioned. Bang for your buck is about zilch unless you're dropping expensive stuff at alarming rates. If you're not doing it already I'd start logging missed picks/drops/rejections and figure out

Problem with shielding component

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 09 13:01:17 EST 2007 | stepheniii

Not unless it's a case of "the only difference is..." What I mean by that is more than once I've been told the only difference in a new rev is one component or one change. But the truth was that was the only reason for the change, and in fact there

Solder paste handing

Pump Stencil

Electronics Forum | Fri Jan 19 07:54:56 EST 2007 | realchunks

I believe you are describing a pin in paste process. Not sure where a stencil is involved. Depending on you machine/pump, you can do damage to it by running paste thru it. Paste is a metal and will wear out internal parts. Also, most pastes used

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 21 16:20:11 EST 2007 | jmelson

I would appreciate any pointers to smaller machines that are newer and more flexible (vision, mostly). I am a one-man manufacturer, and have been doing all boards by hand so far. So, my budget on this is pretty small, but I understand that getting

"Unfortunately breakaways aren't an option - they are large boards and we already have problems hand placing components and probing them." Not sure what this means in this context....if you frame the perimeter with a 1/2" border on a V-score, how do
