Rob, Absolutely agree. Customer precedes standard. As you mentioned design engineers, I think that PCB design has the biggest influence on the voiding. Everything else we do is trying to fix bad PCB design.

One of our Speedline Sigmaprint 400 paste printers has developed an issue. The XY table will no longer move up or down and we cannot initialize the machine for any type of on board diagnostics. Anyone familiar with this type of failure?

That means you are not clearing the interlock condition. Probably a switch has been bumped out of place or sometimes a wire for a switch gets broken.

This has already been done. Companies like Seho Selective Solder machines can provide this service. I imagine it is not cheap. I'd be curious to compare the drop rate of parts per person per hour on a couple of Pillarhouse Jades vs on custom machine.

To add to what Rob has said, Have you considered an ESD safe environment? Floors, Racks, tables, etc.... Also the humidity level of your area incase you use MSD parts? Just a thought.

Carbon ins has very strong resistance to acid and alkali, not easy to remove, maybe return your boards to PCB supplier? they may have solution. Robert Peng- SysPCB
