Local fiducials

Electronics Forum | Wed Oct 20 11:39:01 EDT 2010 | mikesewell

On our Fuji NXT and AIM machines I never program local fids...we place down to 16 mil fine pitch and BGA, uBGA, multirow QFNs with no placement issues. Most boards are panelized in an array and we have corner fids added to the rails. Regards, Mi

SMT parts loss

Electronics Forum | Thu Oct 21 15:30:56 EDT 2010 | remullis

Search on Attrition, I think most companies start around 2% across the board. I have adjusted mine higher for 0603, and parts where I experience tape issues constantly. We are running parts with date codes back 2006,2008.

Electronics Forum | Mon Oct 25 17:03:43 EDT 2010 | jamyboy

I am wondering why the PnP manufacturers are not adding more modern part packages to their databases? Let me know what types of packages you are looking for and if I have them I will send you the data, from our database.

0402 Cap tombstoning strange behaviour

Electronics Forum | Thu Oct 28 16:15:24 EDT 2010 | duchoang

If everything else is OK, capacitors quality could be the cause of this issue. Some caps could have been contaminated or the metal mass not even between two ends. Try different kind (manufacturer)of cap.

0402 Cap tombstoning strange behaviour

I agree with DucHoang. If your board and reflow profile have not changed then I would suspect incoming parts. We've seen tombstones when a chip supplier had plating problems.

What about trying to clean these stencils with a proper stencil cleaner? This way you wouldn't have to worry about sending anything airborne.

Mirtec programming discussion

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 18 09:42:09 EST 2011 | mmjm_1099

CL, Can you help me out here. We currently have a MV2 and a MV3 and I am wondering if there is an option to move programs back and forth for these two versions. I hope Mirtec thought this through and didn't oversee this option.
