Electronics Forum | Tue Jul 13 14:47:35 EDT 2004 | cyber_wolf

I have a brand new X/Y/Theta table for an SPM(The one that uses magnetic supports) that I would like to trade for an older version table.(The one that has holes drilled and tapped in it.) the one I trade for has to be in good condition. No stripped h

Solder paste height measurement

Electronics Forum | Tue Jul 13 14:48:49 EDT 2004 | Mark

I was wondering some input on what to use for measuring height on our solder paste for SMT placement. Is there a place to buy a machine or a scale in which you can use? I know in the past I have used a laser scope at another facility but where I am n

Securing components for wave soldering

Try spraying flux on top of the loaded PWB when you put it on the conveyor. The tackiness of the flux does a pretty fair job of keeping the axial leaded parts down to the board. This takes more cleaning, but it has worked wonders for me on assemblies

Air Bath Rework System

Electronics Forum | Sat Jul 24 11:13:10 EDT 2004 | Steve

I would contact my local distributor. Using a Heat Gun is not the best method for rework. Using the Air Bath depending on board specifications also may not be the best method. Try a small distributor rather than a catalog house. Usually the small dis

Vendors for 3rd party capability measurement?

Electronics Forum | Wed Jul 21 16:02:42 EDT 2004 | rgraves

We are investigating the use of a 3rd party measurement service to complete capability studies on our SMT equipment. The only source I have been able to find that will come on-site is CeTaQ (www.ctq.de). Does anyone know if there are any other vend

flux on PCB's after cleaning

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 26 16:31:02 EDT 2004 | Sue PH

We use Kester 186 flux and the STU people would sometimes find white residue after cleaning with Isopropyl at the solder station. We have Lenium (Petroferm)in our vapor degreasers, and now they use Lenium at their stations as well as final clean, an

Good Pick&Place Equipment in competitive price

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 23 12:52:35 EDT 2004 | Micheal

I would take a good look at Juki's 2000-series machines. We have a few and they are very easy to learn. Setup is minimized with offline setup. Adjust conveyor width and you are ready to run. Juki has provided good support and the machines require

Warming up solder paste at start of days production

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 26 21:25:19 EDT 2004 | KEN

I have seen as little gain as 2 months and even up to 6 months additional time to end-of life. Treat solder paste as a perishible item. Note DOM and Refridgeration life and expiration periods. You guys crack me up....now when ever I go to 7-11 I'l

driving triacs in power supply

Electronics Forum | Sat Jul 24 06:00:50 EDT 2004 | zlatkon

I need to build regulated power supply 0-30V 0-20 Amps. The only solution possible for minimizing the thermal loss is to use triacs on the secondary Trafo side in order to cut the sine for low voltage output and great current. (like 5V, 20A). Please
