Electronics Forum | Wed May 10 16:49:14 EDT 2000 | Michael Parker

I would like informnation regarding this high heat withstanding type material for PCB, also any other types that are compatible. We currently use FR4 but have an application that may require most advanced composition.

placement is only ok?, what size chip is this? Is the pad spacing correct? Are the apertures on your stencil reduced or 1:1. Stencil thickness? Do the problem areas heat up evenly? special plating on terminals of cap? Need more info.

I read your query and reccommend that you take a look at using Infra-red heating technology. I just joined PDR systems and feel that the PDR Technology is appropriate for what you are trying to accomplish. Hope this helps !!

Fluxes

My company is currently experimenting with with a 310 vox free water based flux on solder waves using Infared heat instead of forced convection. I'm interested if anyone has tried this and what results did you have

need edge emitting laser mount

Hi there, I need some edge emitting laser mount, acting as heat sink also, seen once, from one Japanese company, if you have related info, please email me or reply here. Thanks, Jim

reworking brds by flowing the board thru' oven for the 3rd times

Another consideration is that heat damage is accumulative. If you have temperature sensitive components, that third reflow may be bringing them close to their failure point.

BGA short at same spot after few time rework.

You can make bare BGA balls short together, depending on how you choose to heat the device. Lookit .. [http://davesmt.50megs.com/pictures/ select bgashortng.avi]

Thermal Conductivity Of Copper

Electronics Forum | Mon Dec 18 17:56:26 EST 2000 | Dave F

Does the thermal conductivity of a copper trace on a printed circuit board change as the copper oxidizes? Is the oxide on copper a thermal insulator? If so, should it be considered in an analysis of thermal resitivity between a ground plane and a h

Thermagon,Inc,in Cleveland,OH has a product line of high thermal conductivity circuit boards which you should investigate.Check www.thermagon.com and/or call Paul Klouda at 216-939-2310.The 216 area code might have changed to 440.

Pallet absorb thermal heat : compensate by higher deg-C?

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 12 11:28:30 EDT 2001 | CPI

Rob: Wouldn't that only apply to IR ovens. If using a true convection oven the color of the material wouldn't hinder output at all "Right". Dont want to see someone spend money on new tooling if unnecessary.
