I've recently been placed in control of operations of our SCS conformal coat sprayer and I must eliminate problems with wicking of humiseal 1b73 into surface mount connectors while also trying to minimize masking as much as possible. We use a 55:45

Here is a posting by P Kinner at Humiseal ... Typically, there are three main approaches to avoid coating wicking into press-fit connectors (and other keep out areas). Wicking is a phenomenon caused by a combination of low viscosity of conformal coa

Just learned today that Humiseal will no longer be producing their HT-500 masking tapes or dots. Bummer, because their tape worked very well and left no residues even after baking. They say it was becoming so hard to get the raw material for their

I actually bought this tape directly from a disrupter of Saint-Gobain series M797. It was placed on 6" x 9" sheets to have unique conformal coating masking cut outs made. Took some effort to get the process worked out but all is well now.

What masking tape can people recommend for masking the board when conformal coating. I am using a PVA autocoat machine and humiseal 1B31. Current tape, is leaving residue on board when used to hold link wires down whilst glue cures and also when used

From various research I also found the HT500 series was/is being manufactured by Saint Gobain (part number M797). The product is still available through various distributors, though I imagine the quality issues will still be present. The quality issu

First of all, do not use kapton tape! It tends to cause a dewetting effect around the tape. A call to Humiseal will explain why. There's not really a blanket answer to your question.... Removing cured liquid mask can often result in a fillet ef

The adhesive type is the problem generally - latex adhesives used are not compatible with the silicone. Humiseal offer silicone compatible tapes & dots although they are quite expensive. I found a 3M product which is compatible with silicone based co

I'm working on bringing up a new conformal coat process/workcenter and have a few questions I'm hoping someone might have experience with. Right now we're manually spraying both coating materials (1B31 and 1A33 from Humiseal) using HVLP guns. I run
