Hi, Yes, and then how do you design a stencil that paste releases reliably. Do people put lots of 01005 components on the board, or just the minimum required to do a tough job? Regards, Grant

Nope, credit where credit's due - I'll let you have that one (Well, I do have Firday off, & I'm in a good mood!).

Does anyone know what an "Axis Head 1 Theta DAC limit error during Move Absolute Command" may mean? It occurred during production. I have checked through the board's program for errors but cannot see any.

Thanks for your help. Solved it - The spindles on the head were stiffer than the other heads, so greasing it fixed it.

Aside from a visual first article to IPC 610, what inspection criteria do people put in place post wave solder (pre clean)? Thank you

If you are 100% inspecting, then all assemblies should be inspected to IPC-A-610 not just the first one. It sure would be nice if assemblies # 2 - 1000 were exactly the same as the first article, but they aren't.

You may want to try reducing the large center aperture on your stencil to 50-70% of the area of the pad. This is what we do with QFNs and it may be applicable in this case also.

Try: http://www.circuittechctr.com/products/201-5100.shtml I've never tried it, but it looks like it should do the trick.

I have tried this product and one from Kester with mixed results. Just follow the directions exactly. If it says rub the leads with the swab for 60 seconds, do it! Good luck!

Have someone you know but the sales guy doesn't know you know, ask for the same part with no lead. I would not be suprised if the sales guy sang a different tune then. Stephen
