Flux Residues In Lead Free Wave Soldeing Process

Electronics Forum | Sat Mar 25 07:43:20 EST 2006 | smartasp

Hi You all We use no clean flux in our lead free wave soldering process and have unacceptable residues. The provile is spot on. If I reduce the flux amount the holes won't be filled and border on the IPC II specs. The customer does not accept partia

Hi Fellas After bangin my head several times on the cold and hot solder pot nothing improoved. The residues still bother my customer. I agree with less is better but if we apply less we have a cleaner board but the solder won't flow all the way up.

Fuji CP7 0804P feeders

Electronics Forum | Wed Mar 29 23:48:39 EST 2006 | ____

Look on the serial number on the body of the feeder. If it starts with "W" it is a CP6 feeder. If it starts with "K" it is for the CP7. It really doesn't matter for which machine, it all depends on the bucket style feeder. If the feeder is a bucket s

Correct....if the feeders you purchased have 7" pans then they will work fine on a CP-6 or CP-7. If the pans are 13" and they are truly CP-6 feeders, they won't work on a CP-7. If you need to change out your pans I can help. I have a bunch of 13"

Air inclusion in solder paste

Electronics Forum | Mon Mar 27 10:26:59 EST 2006 | slthomas

It seems highly unlikely that you could actually trap enough air in your paste for it to be releasing air after you've worked it a few times unless it's not rolling properly to begin with. I suppose maybe a contaminant could be present that could b

I have been using the Loctite Multicore WS200 with great results for the last two years. We also use the lead free version WS300. I like the flux chemistry (which is the same for both products); it really withstands long soaking times and with very g

Gold Flash with QFN28 problem

Electronics Forum | Thu Mar 30 08:38:58 EST 2006 | Dan

We have this panel that is Gold Flash. Am I correct in assuming this is technically a lead-free panel then? We are running a WS paste, and the QFN28 has balls of solder instead of a fillet. My Max temp is 216, and the TAL was between 52-57 secs with
