The only reason I can see for doing this is: Apply more paste than a one-to-one round can provide. Square, diamond, etc... does not matter. Normally this is done for PTP applications but,... If it gets the job done, who cares.

I know one OEM in Pitt-PA looking for a good Mfg.Eng. They told me they've been advertizing the job for months. They tell me they've recieved a good quantity of applicants but the quality was low.

I just experienced finfing a lengthy thread (over 10 postings). I wanted to print out all postings but found I needed to specify each posting for print. Any way to do multiple selection print jobs with a single command?

Hand Solder Defect Rate

Well, I guess the defect rate would depend on whose doing the job. If you had some idiot doing it, I guess you would have a high defect rate. On the other hand, if you had me doing it, there would be zero defect.

0201 Aperture design

I run 0201 on a 5 mils stencil with openting of 15X12 and did not have any issue. The major concern is the placement and CP643 did very good job. Type 3 solder pastes was used. Good luck.
