I agree with James. Granted there are a variety of lasers to try, we too could not get a consistent power setting. Plus when paste turns liquid, you get some reflection. Also the mask around the pad has to be pulled back or burning may occur.

We've been using lasers to mark barcodes on our boards for some time now. We use a CO2 laser to burn through the solder mask on most of our boards. The machine is enclosed so the operators aren't exposed to the laser. The laser is also mounted on

I am partial to Weller for the small rework irons. I use both the WSL with WMP (current model) and some older EC1302 irons with their power supply (I forget the model, but the one with analog setting knob and digital temp readout). I actually prefe

I ment LF318. We have a power supply board that has 3 different types of these LGA's and i have had great success with the reductions and stencil thickness mentioned. We had to go with 4 mil stencil due to the consideration of the other large compone

Hi, Yes, I think this sounds like a form of tomb-stoning, and we used vapor phase until it ended up driving us totally nuts trying to deal with tomb-stoning. We tried everything, and all kinds of stencil apertures. Vapor phase is an amazing process

I currently have a board that has several wires that need to be soldered into it. Many years ago I remember wave soldering power supply boards that also had many wires. In order to keep the wire insulation out of the solder fillet and keep the wires

Besides, regulated power supply should be installed separately on the printing boards. When power and circuits share the same printing boards, it should be avoided that regulated power supply and circuit components are mixed or power and circuits sha

Hi Luis A white mask typically helps in the marking process since you are not reliant upon the PCB layers to create the contrast. Laser marking is really an etching process, so if your laser is set properly (power and focus) the goal with mask is to

We are building a monster ... Dimensions are 10" x 7" ... 12 layers ... A Logic Assembly with a Power Supply all rolled into one ... The Power Supply is in one section of the board, the logic in the other section ... The Power Supply obviously has a
