Pretty new to this... How long should you expect nozzles to last? I'm noticing that they're continually clogging with solder paste, leading to TONS of bad picks/rejections. How often should I expect to be replacing them, and why are they clogging

Russ, are you using any reduction on your stencil aperatures? How much for what type of parts? We seem to have to many problems with resistor network aperatures clogging. How well does this paste release from small aperatures?

This sounds like you are using a straight ramp profile. For this type of an assembly you may need to use a soak type profile. Most solder paste providers show you both types of profiles that work best with that paste. I would try using that profil

Do you know why my solder paste sticks to the squeegee so much that it mis-prints and how can I prevent it from happening. I can only get about 3/4 prints before this happens.

Fabricators take different approaches in developing paste that is more or less prone to solder balling. That being said, you should be able to overprint 250 thou, no problem. Prove this to be correct by printing paste on a scrap board with an obsol

I would suggest 1) Use the profile that is suggested with the BGA types you are using or 2) Have you solder paste rep visit for a half day and help profile your machine. Remember if they want to keep you as a paste customer they will help. Enjoy,

Kester water soluble seems to work best for us at this point. I am just trying to figure out why we are having so many problems when we use AIM paste. It tends to stick to the blades, clog the aperatures and of course gives us insufficient solder.
