Sorry new to this... Question: will I have any problem soldering a resistor network with SAC305 coated leads using a normal leaded wave process besides the normal board thickness issues Thx

Hi Chris, So you run eror free for 2 years, then change stencil aps and get problems. Why would you go smaller? Try using your old stencil with your no-lead.

Per part.... lookup the european ROHS rules. If you are asking this question and doing lead-free assemblies. Than you have not yet done enough homework. Read all materials on ROHS/Lead-free that you can. Here's a link to get you started. http://lea

Toe down solution: * Land pattern design * Solder stencil design * Proper component fabrication Normal gull wing lead solder requirement: Solder must extend to the mid-point of the outside of the lead bend.

The only way to resolve these issues is to bring back the good ol lead and make the joints ductile instead of brittle for an affordable price. Thanks for the link Dave

Or this might be the right solution Alternative lead free soldering reviewed: http://circuitsassembly.com/cms/content/view/4665/95/

I heard that Swatch was granted their exemption to use lead solder for anything under 800 microns pitch. Is this true? Can't find a thing on the Web stating that this exemption was granted. Chris

James, Smart thinking!! Thats what Swatch and probably Sony does. And to set the record straight Japan doesnt have a lead ban in solders only a recycling program similar to the European WEEE
