Recommended board finish for 0402s

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 11 10:59:08 EDT 2002 | jseagle

Thanks Dave. My engineers are not going to like the news but it's good for me. Maybe now they will use 0603s instead of the 0402s which are not required due to plenty of board space being available. They want to do 0402s just because we now have a

Placement machine comparison

Electronics Forum | Mon Jun 17 15:25:10 EDT 2002 | lysik

I would look at Universal for sure. They have a ton of late model Chip placer's and GSM's that they will discount heavy. There are so many used GSM's and HSP's on the market you could probably get what you need for a fraction of the cost. You could p

NEPCON - not what I expected

Electronics Forum | Thu Jun 13 15:43:19 EDT 2002 | mjabure

The major draw at NEPCON was the the machine manufacturers. With most of the big players going to the APEX shows, NEPCON attendance has seemed to slow down quite a bit. Although APEX wasn't very busy either. With the industry in it's current state no

Well if the Part Data isint correct then your placement position wont be right especially if there odd for connectors. You should examine the image on the ip3 and determine wether the machine has found the centre of the part. Also u might want to check

Fuji CP Feeder Maintenance

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 22 11:41:11 EDT 2002 | Claude_Couture

The trick is to put a serial number on each feeder and use a maintenance tracking software. There are commercial software out there that do just that. Some even use the barcodes to track the location of the feeders, so you know which machine it is on

Universal Radial 8

Electronics Forum | Tue Jul 23 07:47:10 EDT 2002 | John S

We have a RAD5 and RAD 8, both of which have the Expanded Range Verifier. Has anyone had success verifying the correct value of electrolytic caps? Our machine stops several times a day for a false failure, and Universal isn't much help. Thanks John

Cleaning SMD Adhesives

Electronics Forum | Tue Jul 23 18:54:16 EDT 2002 | carln

Is anybody "successfully" cleaning adhesives from the DEK Pump Print stencils? Yes, Dave, I have searched the archives only to find comments ranging from easy to very difficult to clean. However, nobody states what process they are using. What ch

DEK ELA and MPM U2000 Hi-E Comparison

Electronics Forum | Thu Jul 25 19:18:42 EDT 2002 | lysik

I really would not compare the 2 systems. A ELA is more like MPM's UP-1500. The UP-2000 is more like the DEK Horizon or Infinity. You just opened up one of the great debates of the SMT world. MPM or DEK? You will have people on both sides defend the
