Profile board usage

Electronics Forum | Fri Nov 09 01:41:04 EST 2007 | reypal

Thank You Guys for all your input. The reason I raised this case that it was our customer challenge us on the physical outlook of the profile board rather than its functionality no matter the profile curves looks good. Yes, we have a procedure to de

Wave Solder - Small production - Opinion

Electronics Forum | Wed Oct 31 09:09:35 EDT 2007 | russ

Small waves are fine, biggest problem is the little to no preheat length. This is reason that complex boards cannot be soldered without defects. They also do not handle thick PCBas very well either because of same issue. Most of these "benchtops"

1. What is the body size? Who cares. 2. What is the pitch? Doesn't amtter. 3. What is the terminal size? Doesn't matter 4. What is the land pattern size? Really doesn't matter. 5. The Thermal square pad in the middle, with how many vias? If you

mydata tp9 vs philips topaz

Electronics Forum | Mon Nov 12 10:47:53 EST 2007 | dyoungquist

I have never used a topaz but we are currently running a TP9. I can give you some feedback on a TP9 machine. Answer a few questions first and then I can tell you if I think the TP9 is a good fit for you. What size components are you loading? Low o

Is anyone using a laser to selectively solder components to a board? I'm just starting to research selective soldering methods for the company i work for as we're looking to replace our current hand soldering processes for lead- and lead free- produ

Unusual board with BGA

Electronics Forum | Wed Dec 26 15:45:17 EST 2007 | ck_the_flip

Amen to that!! Too many people lately trying to "get out" of rolling their GD sleeves, attaching thermocouples to the board (using their own preferred method), and running the board and profiler through the oven. I'm sick of questions like "duh, pb

Stencil Printing: Single pass vs. Double pass

Electronics Forum | Thu Dec 20 08:00:50 EST 2007 | avalancher

Many years ago, we used to double print. The way we did it was with a rubber squeegee set to do a flood stroke, followed by a return cleaning stroke with a metal squeegee. Why?! Well, this was in the days before Laser etch, and because the chem bat

Stencil Printing: Single pass vs. Double pass

Electronics Forum | Thu Dec 20 12:05:46 EST 2007 | realchunks

Not you Steven. Blanket comments like "Double pass printing for solder paste is not needed and will cause defects. Redesign your stencil thickness or aperture sizes, change your paste mesh size or type, go to 45 degree blades." are so way off base.

Salary Ranges
