The holes on the circuit board which need to be covered are very small and it is more time consuming to cut to size and place with kapton tape. Thanks for the feedback.

Consider: * Changing your temporary solder resist [TSR] to a light cure. * Contracting with your board fabricator to apply the TSR. * Gaining better thickness control of your application process by silk screening the current TSR. * Forcing more air c

Amejia, If your application is strictly conformal coating and no heat is applied to the board, the product seal and peel would be the solution see link http://www.interfluxusa.com/misc.html This product solidifies immediately on cooling The only dra

Hi Patrick, I checked out the link and I think that just might be crazy enough to work. I'll have to research it a little bit more, but I think this would be the answer. Thanks a lot to everyone for all your help and suggestions.

I had the same incident before, and like GS pointed out, the degassing from the via under the component was responsible. The via was covered with solder mask, but it burst open during the reflow.

Bake your solder mask and then solder coat. If you are going to put an immersion finish like Osp, gold, tin or silver you would have to do a Micro etch to clean the copper prior to placing the surface finish. Regards, Board House

What is the surface finish of the board ? Some flux are known to react with certain type of board chemistry. Have you verified the compatibility of your solder mask and flux ?
