Questions are: * Do these boards meet IPC-A-600? * What does your supplier say is the source of this color variation? * What steps is your supplier taking to make the boards more acceptable?

Simply ask your board manufacturer to Hot Air Solder Level the boards. HASL is a very common procatice at all board houses. Should not add cost and now your board meets this spec before you even touch it.

Michael, You're right, of course. A major mis-type on my end. What I meant to say is that no-clean fluxes are designed to not _require_ cleaning to meet industry cleanliness standards. Cheers ..rob

no inspection * Failing to meet expectations => inspection In asking if you observed the problem at incoming inspection, we should have asked the question differently. Have you observed the problem in stock items, prior to assembly?

Josh: 2222 will meet your requirements. 2221 is a companion to 2222. So, if you're going to try to get your engineers to follow an accepted standard, you might need both. Although, they probably already have both and are just playing dumb with you.

Hi Real Chunks, Nice to meet you. Well, I certainly not agree with you. Sorry. Can You be a little more specific about your claims, about my statements? Do you know what you are talking about? I wish no polemic about this. Best Regards, Mika

What a preposterous notion. I question your desire to retain your current employment status. This clearly mandates a meeting! Harrrumph!

You're right. I do care too much. I should work on that. I guess it is better to just point out a problem ina meeting and waste resourses, rather than resolve it.

There is no specification for solder paste height, just as there is no specification for paste volume. Focus on producing a fillet that meets J-STD-001. You make the choices that produce the end result.

Fuse holder manufacturers are: FIC, Littlefuse, Zierick, BEL, Bussmann. Their application-type surely can help you select the proper item to meet your requirements.
