Cost of X-Ray Inspection Equipment

Electronics Forum | Mon Jun 18 10:27:26 EDT 2001 | floydl

We have a modest operation and are seriously considering adding x-ray inspection systems. How much will it cost to setup an X-Ray Inspection Station? What training resources are available? What can we expect to spend to train inspectors?

Question about Cost

I would guess a small US/Europe CEM with modest equipment could probably get the assembly cost somewhere close to $15, the volume is large enough that tooling charges may well be irrelevant. Such a CEM might appreciate the freedom to source the parts

Reflow Oven & Surface Mount Machine Energy Consumption

The P&P machine uses very modest power when idling. It draws burst of power when accelerating the gantry. So, the yearly power consumption is going to be a LOT less than nameplate figures. If it is largely air-driven, then you have to factor in th

Thanks for the rare vote of confidence, tpappano! ;) Were you able (did you even try?) to get the broker to commit in writing that the machine was in running condition? I also agree that the machine will pay for itself very quickly, especially give

Wolfgang: Boy it's tough to convey context in this medium, isn't it? Clipped from our paste storage work instruction, environmental effects on paste are: 1a Avoid excessive heat (over 80 F). It causes flux separation, reducing print quality. 1b
