We have a name brand aqueous batch cleaner that uses a chemical and DI water to clean ROL0 flux from our PCBs. It does ok most of the time for SMT boards and we want to include through hole assemblies as well which should be a better cleaning process

When i considered using one I bought a cheaper brand named aoyue which cost less then $140 U.S. just to see if it would work for what we were trying. It did work but our engineering dept wound up scrapping it and doing a redesign. I was going to get

As always, our good colleague Evtimov is right about the AOI and oven. For the AOI you need to make a golden sample board(panel) and test if your machine can catch all defects that you simulated BEFORE the oven. Try to me as accurate to real defects

I had a DOS Heller 1500 a looooong time ago so my memory is fuzzy. That being said I remember there were some weird options in some of the configuration menus. I don't remember the names, but its were you would set the alarm points, you could manual

Hello SMTA, This may be beyond the scope of the SMTA since it does not strictly deal with assembly of electronics, rather, it is about potential solderless methods for manually tuning RF circuits. Our Engineers & QC have tasked manufacturing with

Due to couple of customers who still have some products that are completely through-hole, we use our Universal DIP and Axial equipment on a somewhat regular basis. Our machines are pretty old, but they work pretty well, and we don't do enough throug

As everyone else said, if you don't have CAD, it's a pain to digitize the gerbers. So much so that we only did it once when I went to CircuitCam training. After you digitize the gerbers, you have to merge the BOM with it. And you have to tell it p

We need to be careful with product to avoid introducing a new failure mode, namely corrosion and dendrite growth, especially those running no clean processes! In addition to heat (reflow, wave and some selective soldering processes) killing the vi
