Hello, since some days we are facing strange problem with SMT component reflow paste on one side of the component is reflowed correctly while the other side is 10%-70% non-reflowed (same component on 3 positions per module, alwyas the same land pad)

Mydata M12 issue

Electronics Forum | Tue Oct 27 11:20:16 EDT 2009 | smtspecialist

I had the same problem back in March with my MY12, since I have two identical lines i swapped things around until swapping the x-wagon motor (the one for fine movements). When I swapped the x-motor I move the problem from one line to the other gener

Chip Capacitor Uneven Surface

Electronics Forum | Tue Sep 29 07:28:48 EDT 2009 | clampron

Sean, Is this the only chip component that exhibits this condition? Only one location or only one part number? What are you using for chemistry? (OA, No Clean) if the parts do not look like this when they leave, I would send a sample of an unprocess

Hello, I've recently started to work with MPM AP25, I began doing maintenance to get to know the machine. But now I'm having some problems in the teaching process. You can see the problem in the photo. http://img59.imageshack.us/i/image194p.jpg/

Researching placement machines - where do I start?!

Electronics Forum | Wed Nov 04 05:58:45 EST 2009 | jeffreyj

Thanks for suggesting the GSM-1, Deni. There is a dealer not too far from us that has one in stock so I'm going to go check it out today or tomorrow. Got a few quick questions for you: 1. can you load cut tape onto the feeders, or only reels? 2. how

Researching placement machines - where do I start?!

The GSM sounds great except for one thing--you won't fit all your feeders on it. That is, assuming your feeder list is what you want to have resident on the machine at all times. I think you could rule out 80% of the machines you are considering b

Lab & Low Volume Reflow oven

Electronics Forum | Fri Nov 13 08:43:02 EST 2009 | herman

reash, Go directly to APS and get one of the APS GF-12 ovens. I have been using these for 15 years as a low-to-medium volume oven for general purpose reflow of CCAs up to about 12" by 12" with excellent results. I use them for BGA re-balling, underfi

Bubbles on solder joint(after conformal coating curing)

Electronics Forum | Fri Dec 18 09:27:51 EST 2009 | sforman1

Tom: Once again - why are you using solvent based conformal coating. 1B31 is OK as a CC but it contains Toluene and MEK!! It is only 35% solids which means you are trying to get rid of 65% solvent. If you must use it due to customers requirement then

solder paste

I am curious as to why you need to mix.... We use a 500g cartridge with air gun. Our process is remove the cartridge from the fridge, allow it to warm up to room temperature before inserting into air gun, then apply bead of paste to the stencil. N

Temperature Profiling

Electronics Forum | Wed Dec 23 09:11:56 EST 2009 | lynn_norman

In a former life, we used hi temp solder. I've heard of adhesive and taping methods, we just never used them. We too had a "golden" assembly that we would use for routine profiling. Our requirement was to attach a TC to the lowest thermal mass, hi
