Thanks for your response. I am reducing the stencil opening and ensuring no solder paste deposited at the cornor of the pad. Not moving to homeplate design considering the component size. Will share the exact design.

Yes it's 0201. Homeplate design is not recommended. Simple going to reduce the aperture size. Just planning to reduce it in both the pad cornor. What's your recommendation.

Our application has a ground pad underneath. So I'm not sure if applying on two sides will work.

Do you recommend soldering the chip to the available smd surface pad? Did you mean https://www.sigmaprint.co.uk/? Thanks

There's bits of the LAN9311-NZW around (Mouser), but although the package looks the same size, it looks like it's got a heatsink pad under the device - you have to check with your designers/approvals to see if you can use it.

@KWalker I think that could be the case. Though I read somewhere a while back that nickel oxidation can be quite tough to remove, even with flux. Am I wrong about that?

Jerry, just out of curiosity, why can't you use flux? Flux is essential part of soldering and it is there for multiple reasons. Flux we can also clean afterwords - even No Clean.

The fact that your cleaning didn't really help reinforces that it probably is oxidation. Cleaning won't remove that.

After printing or after the oven? Too much paste - thinner stencil, smaller holes, to rare paste ...

Do Proper underneath stencil cleaning. if the cleaning not effective, check Vaccuum section of the printer machine. Else change the Wipe roll. Trying out with other cleaning solvent (dedicated to stencil cleaner) also improve this issues.
