This socket supplier never expected you to do what you're doing to his/her part. Some materials bear-up under the thermal strain of reflow solder than others. Try different socket materials.

i agree, with the other fellow, check the data sheet for the part and see what it can handle otherwise hand assemble.

We use Hot Mill Gloves, North by Honeywell. Their part number is 51/7146ZJ. I think they work pretty good. We pay about 4.03 per pair.

Probably the ribbon cable are broken. I had same issue some time ago. Cable connected to camera and placed under cover. Spare part code is 1007867.
