Everyone is suspecting the epoxy. I'm just trying to understand why. Ryan stated he was having random chips falling off. If the epoxy or cure was the problem wouldn't he see the majority of the components falling off instead of just random?

Larry, CSL used to publish the whole article online. Now, they just have an abstract. Bummer. Look in Circuits Assembly magazine, 12/98 for "Microcanyons"

Dave, I had to contact Circuits Assembly, but I got the article. I'm going to forward it on to Ryan. I think you're on to his problem with flux becoming entrapped in the epoxy. It plays along with Locktites suggestion of a longer soak on his profile.

A good standard could be 99.7% of Pick up reliability in terms of machine performance, but you should take care of the cost of the parts that you are scraping.

I've never printed adhesive but I assume that aspect ratio still plays a part with release. Maybe that .006" is just to thick to get good release. Can you step your stencil down from .006" to .004" or .005" for the 0402's?
