We're having trouble with a TO-252 DPAK from Fairchild (MC7805CDT) and our existing land pattern. The land pattern calculator on the IPC site doesn't have anything available that matches it (there are no TO-252's available on the pull downs), and I'

Pattern match is the simplest and less accurate method. However many people like it because is simple to teach.

Does anyone know how to use the Pattern matching option for fiducials at Philips Topaz or Emerald SMT machines? Is it worth using it? Can it be used for example when you deal with hard to recognize fiducials like those on pre tinned PCB's?

Hello Fellas, I m looking for some information about Fiducial methodology used in SMT machines. My Machine has two options for fiducial- Pattern Matching vs Center search based on fiducial shape. but I don't understand difference. In both methods we

as long as you are not getting recognition errors, and placements look good, go with it. as far as the pattern matching, the only thing I can think of is changing the it from circle or square to sp. shape and giving it the dimension sizes asked for.

I'd have thought that centre search uses an algorithm to find the dead centre of a specified geometric shape. Pattern recognition basically has a picture of the area of the board selected and tries to match it with what the camera sees. ( so it doesn

Who should operate an AOI? operator or Inspector?

You're right! Whether "Pattern matching" or "Pixel recognition", in both cases, it is the operating person who will make an inference from the results obtained. This makes IPC knowledge the key to AOI usage. "Quality" is never introduced into a pro
