Simon: Books that will teach you enough about printed circuit board fabrication to be dangerous, in no particular order, are: * Coombs "Printed Circuits Handbook" McGraw-Hill * Jawitz "Printed Circuits Board Materials Handbook" McGraw-Hill * Macleod

We manufacture a mixed technology board, that uses a through hole "mini cap" with a 2.5 mm lead span. We have had several failures caused by solder wicking up through the plated through hole pcb and touching the can. This shorts out the capacitor.

Hello once again! I am having a problem with a 24 pin connector bridging on the wave. We use very similar connectors on other PCB with zero problems. This connector bridges in the same place on the same pins. It forms like a little block of four

I once long ago in a place far away had a digitizer that through a series of arms and encoders could be used to plot placement points on a PCB for which there was no CAD or Gerber data. I now find myself in need of this again but the digitizers I hav

Mike, we use carrier's as a matter of course on all wave products, it let's us keep the conveyor width the same all the time so speed's up change overs and eleimiates one more thing that can be set wrong. The main aim of the exercise is to be able

Hi Dave, This particular p/n calls for print&etch for wet process..and the problem occured due to surface contamin. with resist residue resisting copper from etching off. The high pressure nozzle was a problem at developing oper. and it is fixed now

Dear Folks, could anyone give me an advice who supplies dicing blades (2 or 4") for cutting blended, through hole plated PCBs (1-3 mm thickness). Who has made good experiences (tool life, duration) with which blades? Are there any good application i

Dave, you are right you would expect the soldermask to be higher than all SMT pads on the pcb if it is higher on the fine pitch components, but the other areas of the board do not concern me as much as the fine pitch areas. The pads on all the other

ok now i have some more answers to questions. the 225F is the temperature as the pcb comes out of the last preheater before crossing the wave. the conveyor speed is anywhere from 3.65-4.00 should it be the same for all boards?? I am using superfl

At our facility, we process FR-4 boards for PCMCIA cards (0.020"). The key for us is dedicated fixturing for stencil printing and fixturing for reflow soldering. We are working closely with our customer to better improve panel design, but other than
