Hi, Did anyone experience a problem with electrically conductive silver filled epoxy is resistive due to galvanic reaction? I'm having this problem when attaching components to Ni plated housing while conducting an experiment to cost reduction for Au

Hi, can you please tell me how to make green coating and through-hole plating of PCB? Thanks! Xingsheng

Mr.Dave.F has given an exhaustive answer. I just want to mention that some attention could be paid to the plating & contaminants on the PCB. We have experienced longer soldering time due to the presence of contaminants on the plated surface.

Can someone tell me what metal substrates are comonly used for component leads with gold plating? If the gold plating is missing, are any of the substates incompatible with 63/37 solder? Thanks.

So what exactly is a feeder protection plate and how does it protect the head when it decides to continuously accelerate until it achieves its allowable travel distance on the machine? How often does this happen?

To make it simple: A Feeder protection plate is just a flat piece of metal that hangs over the feeders, inside the machine, and keeps the feeder cover from popping up and crashing the head.

why not use "flash Au plating"? its supposed to be somewhere in the thin layers of 3-5um Au thickness... then again I never used it before either, might want to check with your original parts supplier is this feasible?

Ok let's start backwards abit, and move progressively from a common understanding. So this originator thread-slinger bloke is asking for advise to Au plate his connector pads. We have a cuppa ideas bounced around which leads to my ignorance based q

On a gold plated PCB, when in the PCB fab process is the gold plating applied? How about OSP, when in the process is OSP applied?

we used the ball bonding, just normal chip on board. as I know the the electroless Ni/immersion Au, the gold thickness is about 0.13um at most, what about chemical plating or electrolytic plating? any experience on it, thanks
