I super glue a number on the frame and have a excel chart posted with the part numbers and stencil numbers. I had numbers engraved like a name plate on small squares. This work really well. John

Thanks Dave, That answers my question. I didn't think either that the qty of gold in platings would be enough to contaminate the solder pot. I wanted to make sure that leach test is a valid test for gold finishes. Gopinath@mcl.com

Does it have to be made out of plastic? Wouldn't some stock aluminum plate with milled out pockets work just as well? Would the aluminum offer the same, better, or worse ESD protection?

If you don't have Plated through holes you will not get any hole fill! There is nothing for the solder to wet to. Problem solved? Russ

We have received a board from our customer with one of the Transformer falling off.The component lead plating fell off but there is solder fillet at the PCB pad is good.

We process a double-side reflow board (10 ups). Chips and IC's on the bottom side while chips, IC's plus thru-hole connectors and IC sockets on top side (bottom side first then top side reflow). In the past, we were not encountering any soldering pro
