+1 to what Sr. Tech said. I'd also add that you could have some uneven deterioration of the centering jaws. Check by doing a couple of things (this will help check if the tool/tip is bent/deteriorated as well): 1. Turn off mechanical centering, and

I would expect any half decent machine to place 0603 parts slap bang on target to the typical defined accuracy for such parts on most machines of perhaps ~60 microns or better. Self correction during reflow is IMHO much less pronounced with lead-free

Actually, Mydata already had that similar design over 10 years ago, it's the aglilis feeders. It's easy to set it, and almost no spill parts at all if the operator do it right.
