board stretch and IPC -D-300G

Electronics Forum | Mon Nov 12 13:04:35 EST 2001 | slthomas

We've got a problem with a fine pitch board that has about .005" registration error at each end (towards the center of the board) when it's printed. Apparently we've got a case of board stretch generated at the fab shop. I still have to do some mea

Yes!!! How can we assemble boards with 20 pitch when we allow 0.008 error to the master art? Excellent question!!! IPC-D-300G has nothing to do with assembler requirements. It is written by and for fabricators, so that they can be comfortable.

PDBE and PBB replacements???

You indicate that PBBs and PBDEs are included in FR4 materials!! Does this include PCB (Printed Circuit Boards)??

rush316 First, no one stated that PBB and/or PCBE are in FR4. FR4 contain tetra-bromo-bisphenol A [TBBA]. Second, there are classes [and grades] of dielectric materials used in fabricating printed circuit boards. Grades, NEMA LI-1. From these gr

You have mostly set in your mind before purchasing PCB i.e. PCB is an acronym for the printed circuit board. Last month I purchased PCB from Great PCB.

GEOMETRIC DIMENSIONING AND TOLERANCING (GDT) Using and applying GDT to printed circuitry and assemblies is very much like applying it to any other design for manufacturing (DFM) or design for assembly (DFA) requirement using concurrent engineering (C

AOI, Quality and SPC

Hello phil, The use of AOI systems give us the opportunity to auto-collect defect information much the way you're using them now. AOI systems become extremely effective when the collected data is used to perform some positive change into the process.

Earl, As always, I am interested in what you have to say, but I am still a little vague on your application of ANSI Y14.5 as it relates to the manufacturability of an assembled printed circuit board. Are you implying that component placement coordina

I assume you're playing us, but I've always been a tool. So, here are a couple of links that will help you get started in understanding "printed circuit boards: + Printed circuit board [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Printed_circuit_board] + Printed
