I'm glad I dropped in here. I am about to buy some tooling for a Fuji GP-641E. I have been told to get the Red-E-Set, but from this discussion I'm not sure if that's a good idea. The local dealer wants US$1000 each for the 24" segments, we would pro

Universal Rad 6348A chain advancement problems.....

Electronics Forum | Thu Nov 18 14:38:59 EST 2004 | EED

There is a couple of things to check. Put the machine in diagnostics and let the chain run. You should see it run the same as you would if purging it. Sometimes the 2 hall effects at the disk do not see the disk as it turns. Check the driver board

Hello Boy this sure brings back memories from the years past. Was a field engineer for universal for about 9 years. Worked almost exclusively on the Rad 1 and Rad 2. The first thing that I would do is remove the sequencer head that fires at the sa

On contaminated assemblies: While you isolated part of your dendritic growth to contaminated boards, could it be that you have a similar problem with other components, rather than your flux? Is this flux new? Have you had similar problems with thi

Wave Soldering Thick PCBs - Foam vs Spray Fluxing

Electronics Forum | Mon Dec 27 16:55:52 EST 2004 | jdengler

HOSS, Most spray fluxers won't help. If you get a spray fluxer that uses a high velocity spray gun, it might. That being said I had less problems with top side wetting from a foam fluxer myself. Make sure the foam height is good. Also had some pr

SMT LED placement with Universal HSP 4791

Hello, We are assembling a large pcb with 256 Lumex #SSL-LXA228SRC-TR31 SMT LED's on an HSP 4791. The part I'm using for the library is a modification of an existing SMT LED from the standard library. The problem is that the HSP rejects about 30% of

Haven't noticed any major difference between C's and R's. Our biggest problem is feeders that will advance to the same location and leave the part in the pocket. We see "billboarding" on R's when the feeder isn't working right. If you have a good

Set Command Variables

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 14 08:41:38 EST 2005 | jdengler

If you already have trouble with two set commands, you will get many more when you add 3 more. Maintenance MUST learn to align the machines correctly. The BEC scenerio you describe proves that the alignment is wrong. The table can be adjusted for

CP6 Nozzle sticking

Electronics Forum | Tue Feb 15 06:53:50 EST 2005 | cyber_wolf

It seems that every time we do maintenance on our CP6 windmills, we have a lot of problems with nozzles sticking up inside the holders. It seems to happen for a while, then it goes away after we run for a bit. We follow the Fuji maintenance procedure

SMT component mis-aligned

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 21 16:06:10 EST 2005 | MR

I agree w/ JB; the package height definition is crucial. I have had problems w/ this in the past, and found that a resistor height was being used as a universal passive height for the capacitor in question. Properly defining the height fixed the pro
