QFN aligment issues

Electronics Forum | Thu Jul 05 16:19:49 EDT 2012 | jorge_quijano

The PCB has 9 QFNs, distributed arround the whole board, but the ones in the edges are the ones with the problem. My stencil is 0.005" (I use to have a 0.006"), yesterday I realize after talking to my vendor that the stencil is manufactured in 2 step

Pad cratering

We are having a problem with a 601 pin BGA in that the corners of the BGA are lifting and taking the pads with them. Faults are not always seen straight away so we are not sure at which point the fault is happening. So far it looks as though flexing

"The problem is we haven’t changed anything in our design, and this has never happened before in 4-5 batches of production." If nothing has changed (same parts, same oven profile, same de-paneling, etc.), could the parts themselves have changed? I h

Stencil Cleaning by hand

Greetings everyone, I am trying to figure out away to clean our stencils by hand. Unfortunately, we do not have a stencil cleaner due to size and finance of our company. I am using Ionox to clean them daily. But the walls do not come clean. Is this a

I would advise against using IPA for stencil cleaning It may initially seem to produce good results but the way it works you end up with more problems. IPA is good at removing liquid fluxes but it dries out and cements solid fluxes to the stencils

We will be running a very large board with 62k+ components on it in the coming week. Has anyone run boards with this qty before? For sanity sake I had to split up the board into 12 individual programs. We will be forced to run it on a My12 due to

We have an air compressor with in-line dryer for all machines. The only humidity indicators we have are granule cell humidity indicators on the dryer and periodic visual inspection of air bowls on machines. No problems for years. Management is pus

Quad IVc Part rejection issue

Electronics Forum | Thu Aug 16 14:29:00 EDT 2012 | bobpan

Sounds to me like a dirty quad-align. If you have cleaned the lens and have the same results then you may have dirt on the inside of the quad-align. The only fix is to replace it or blow it out with an air gun. Unfortunately it is not easy to tell if
