I was informed by a UK solder distributer that you can buy a "paint" and carry out the process yourself quite easily. I Also have spoken to Solbraze a Uk manufacturer of solder baths that can help.

Voids in BGA most often are a process indicator, you know unless either they're huge or there's lots of them.

Craig. i spoke with a process engineer today and he told me that if you mix pb and non pb it may work but may cause premature failures if in a thermal cycleing environment. failure cause may be micro fractures.

It goes to show, EVERYONE (Equipment OEM's, solder paste, flux, wick, etc) is benefitting from this Lead-Free legislation. It's even created jobs in the US, and has taught many a Process Engineer the basics of soldering and profiling.

Thanks for the input. Just one question. Is what i am seeing normal? I am refering to the flux being between the lead and molten paste after the reflow process. This only found on a non-wetting lead.
