I've been an electronics hobbyist for many years (almost 50!, that's scary), and I'd like to expand my "skills set" to include being able to work with SMT components. I know I'll need some sort of magnifying viewer, 35x has been suggested. I'll also

Hi Chunks, That would be due to Mr Dumont asking for recommendations on types of ovens! Yes, I agree paste is a major factor, as is type of board (size, construction, palletisation, heat requirements etc), but also real experiences from users help

Hi all, Yesterday I met a VCO(Vector-Controlled Oscillator) supplier, who provided the component spec -- peak temperature over 240 centigrade stands 7secs. But this spec is obviously different from our spec -- 260 centigrade 10secs. They told me th

WOW Sr.Tech, 40K worth of bent tools? I'm about ready to be sh*t canned because of 1K's worth. As for trimming the mags, the product is running fine (many boards) and then out of nowhere the tool bends, so I assume my PERFECT operators trimmed the ma

I think with any feeder your going to loose parts. After running the five most popular pick and place machines all I can say is, TAPE. Have your operators tape the reel after they remove it from the feeder. It coasts more in ESD tape and its a pain

Hi, The MYDATA is a very flexible machine, however it's slow as a chip shooter, and really needs Myspeed to work to get as much speed as possible. It's also wasteful to get chip placement speed because you need to repeat feeders of the same componen
