Re: Flux Vision

There must be a good reason for somebody to say that; I just can't think of one. We have a CRT and there is an issue with flux affecting the performance of the machine, but it is not terribly bad. Run your reflow profile the way it is supposed to run

Re: solder balls on high temp.solder

Get a profiler for your oven. To say "we are not sure" and "we think it might..." shows you are running with a WAG (Wild Ass Guess). Not a good place to be if you intend to produce anything reliable, with quality. Run your profile and verify that yo

Antonio, I would need to have more profile information i.e. preheat temp (hold time) as well as soaking zone (time). What is the peak temperature and how long is it held there. Also, one more thing to check, because I have seen it in the past, is

Electronics Forum | Mon Aug 14 10:35:00 EDT 2000 | C.K.

We've got this power brick device with a Copper casing that gets so hot in the oven, that the solder on the circuit board inside the power brick reflows. Of course, the heat is abosorbed by the case. Profile adjustments have been tried, but we don'

Reflow Profiling

Electronics Forum | Tue Jul 11 11:59:34 EDT 2000 | George English

Looking for some welcome advise again folks. We are currently using a reflow profiling software package which requires passing a data logging unit through the oven attached via thermocouples to a populated 'dummy' PCB. The problem is we have a very

Sal, To answer your first statement; Yes, you can cure paste and reflow solder using one profile. Question on your second statement; Are you talking about running passive side glue, flipping it over, running active side solder, and then putting the
