profiler for vapor phase

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 18 14:37:33 EDT 2011 | ldavis

We use the same profiler for convection and VP. For VP you just have to be very careful as the thermocouple wires must travel through the machine so cannot get "snagged" on anything as they go in or come out.

BGA Thermal Profiling

Does anyone know of a method other than drilling holes in a board to accurately profile a BGA ?

Select solder profiling

Has anyone used a thermal profiler on a select solder program? We would like to know which brand anyone has had good results with. Thanks

profile vitronics 500s for lead free solder paste

Electronics Forum | Wed Mar 21 07:44:19 EDT 2012 | cuervo

Hello ! I have a vitronics 500s ( five zones), and the solder paste is ALPHA OM-338-PT lead free. have anyone a profile to start and test, i need some reference temperatures.and conveyor speed thanks !!!

change from reflow to glue

Electronics Forum | Tue Jul 10 02:12:16 EDT 2012 | stano

Hi, when we change model from reflow temperature profile to temperature profile for glue, we always open oven to cool down. It is good for oven? Thank you for your answer.

Reflow profiling of double sided assemblies

Electronics Forum | Thu May 23 11:57:21 EDT 2013 | dyoungquist

We run the same profile for both sides. We also run the bottom temp 10C cooler in the final 2 heat zones.

Reflow profile prediction software

Electronics Forum | Thu Oct 24 23:24:55 EDT 2013 | wesleyintelli

Does anyone know of any good profile prediction software for free, trial or on the market that is not coupled with hardware. We want to specify the environment, paste, board and oven etc variables and have the software suggest the best cavern temper

BGA inspection in mass production

Electronics Forum | Mon Nov 25 00:45:35 EST 2013 | igorfo

Thank you for advice, But main concern how to detect the problems with BGA on SMT line, and how I can validate "good" or "bad" profile. PS: SPC said that process Cpk 2, temperature profile in the upper spec limit for TAL and peak temperature.

Profiling

Electronics Forum | Thu Jan 09 07:43:56 EST 2014 | aflex

1. For PCBs we can do thermal profiling 2. Sensor needs to connect to the input pins. the pin no. depends on the sensor quality. 3. Proper input and compatible sensors should be used.

Starting point 7 zone oven profile for lead free - 2 layer simple board, but high mass electrolytics

Electronics Forum | Thu Apr 24 12:18:01 EDT 2014 | cyber_wolf

You must thermally profile your circuit boards with a data-logger and thermocouples. Just putting in oven set points and looking at solder joints is not enough. Reference IPC-7530
