I've seen this problem caused by the cool down. On a 7 zone oven I made a profile to peak at zone 5 to give some semblance of control to the cool down. The component can develope a big delta T, because of the difference of materials

Hi MK, It not really as simple as changing from one to the other. VIA hole, PTH hole sizes may need to be changed. Really the designer should re-evalaute the board before changing. Also remember your soldering profiles, both reflow and wave (if appl

well you're already registered, there wouldn't be a need to re-register. You can tell who is registered and who is not by their posting name. If it is a link and has the profile head next to it they are registered.

Is there a steadfast rule of thumb for a good solder joint on an Enig Gold board. I come across this number 217C when discussing BGA profiles. Is this a published number? I sure could use a reference. Anybody feedback is appreciated.

As a starting point, consider that these component leads may not be getting hot enough. Measure the temperature profile on the leads that do not solder well to be sure: * Heating and cooling ramps are within the paste supplier's recommendations. * C

LPMTF means Low Profile Multi-Tube Feeder and EMTF means Extended Multi-Tube Feeder. The difference is that the EMTF is bigger and it supports a wider range of tube.

I have been using silver coated boards for over 3 years and with a Qualitek No-clean solder paste and have used primarily the same convection reflow profiles as Hasl boards.
