That Fuji won't sell the reel by itself is difficult to believe. Is there a part number assigned to the reel? If so...they will sell it.

We're not buying stips, they're whole reels at first. But because of things like discrete order sizes, or proto builds, or otherwise low-volume production, we're stuck with leftovers.

It is a very simple practice to leave a leader when breaking down a setup. This way the next time you're going to use the reel there is about a foot of cover tape to use. Seems to work in our SMT production area. Max.

Sometimes distributors endup with partial reels of componnts and are not able to sell the quantities of the partial lengths. So, they gather all the odd strips and have a contractor combine into a more attractive length reel for resale.

see also the complete specific series of IEC-60286,IEC-60286-3, IEC-60286-4, IEC-60286-5,IEC-60286-6. All of those specs are realated to packaging specifications. Tape, reel,stick magazine,tray, bulk case,etc. Regards.....GS

We bake components in reels quite often using a low temp oven. If you look under JDEC standards they provide temps and baking times based off of the thickness of the part. The only problem with the low temp is that you could be looking at baking ti
