I think his units are wrong. We did a very thin board with some 0805 resistors on it at 80 cm/minute. This generated a profile a little over 4 minutes. Regards, Jerry

We also run about 1.21 m/min on our profile, never had any parts shake loose.

If solderability is the only concern, then there is no standard time. Multiple factors involving OSP thickness, Flux activation levels, profile parameters, storage environment will drive the problem. You just need to perform tests to determine your m

Thanks for ur good advice. I do have a Tamura, one JT, 3rd one I want to buy Heller or Vitronic. Using KIC also for profiling.

I think your problem is that you are using low temperature solder paste with a high temperature solder paste profile. You might want to attach some thermocouples to verify.

Get yourself a KIK Oven and Wave Profiler. It will get you in the Ballpark before burning down the joint. Easy to use and talk to your paste supplier. Murray

Auto chain oiling is a must have feature in my opinion. You can't have too many heating zones! More zones allows more finesse in your profiles.

The profile I have shared is for SMQ92J leaded solder paste

Increase paste volume and use ramp soak spike profiling. Reducing volume of paste often leads to entrapment. Good idea to know difference between voiding and dewetting due to contamination

If its low volume maybe vapor phase desktop unit? I heard they work like magic and don't require any profiling. Rehm is supposed to be the best brand especially in europe. Overbuilt and even better than Heller but not too popular in US.
