It took me awhile to "warm up" to KIC 2000 as well, as I, too, am an old lead-head from way back who used to profile with an old MOLE that used DOS-based software. I've also used the old SlimKIC II and Datapaq as well. I guess what he meant by "old

Rich: Awww, dont worry that you have to ship product. This moisture sensitive part thing is more important. ;-) And dont worry that everyone is giving you guff and no one is supporting you. Yours is a thankless job. ;-) You got it right!!!

My first reaction would be to run! FAST! Flex -- well, it... flexes... and isn't flat. While you assemble it, While you transport it, While it goes through the oven... SMT Connectors typically need to be held down during reflow. Fiducial types are

| Hello all, | | Our guys here still have some questions on the "optimized" profile which sees a more moderate ramp up straight to reflow temperatures versus the conventional profile which has a plateau at around 150 Celsius. If the optimized profi

The profile that you should be using, hopefully, is detailed in the paste data sheet. Connect your thermocouples to various parts of the board, depending on layout, population etc; and then run some trials observing the profile on your oven monitor/

Thanks. I saw your response to Gabby on May 23 2000. Sent a request to Christina Cotto at Reedexpo.com. She's going to send me copies of the Nepcon papers you referenced. Although, I did some guestimating and ballparked a monthly cost of $338k

Joe, When developing profiles I recommend using a board that is populated the same way as the reflow will see in actual production, no more components, no less. My company manufactures ovens and part of our QC Procedure is to make sure the thermal

Hi Dick We've built up an SMD line for low volume, high product mix over the last two years. Some thoughts: - the reflow system shall have very big thermal power and reserve that results in the same profil with different thermal masses ie products. T
