Rosin vs. Resin Flux

Electronics Forum | Thu May 31 08:25:56 EDT 2007 | davef

At the end of the day, you won't notice a difference, while soldering, but if you clean the flux residues.

Board Warpage

Electronics Forum | Sat Apr 26 08:18:47 EDT 2008 | davef

Your warpage problem could be caused by change in: * Multilayer board construction (not homogeneous or unbalanced - too resin rich or poor) * Supplier process capabilities (lamination cycles) * Material selections (usually cheap and dirty), etc.

Electro-Deionization Systems

Electronics Forum | Thu Sep 11 13:41:45 EDT 2008 | stepheniii

Carbon tanks don't make DI water. AFAIK Unless you mean the resin tanks and are simply calling them carbon tanks.

Washing of Misprinted PCBs

Electronics Forum | Wed Aug 26 13:27:48 EDT 2009 | stepheniii

My understanding is the resin does a one to one ion exchange. And that when it becomes saturated, it does nothing. edit, and you do mean tap water, not toilet water, right?

Conformal Coat Masking Tape

Electronics Forum | Thu May 27 15:59:30 EDT 2010 | mikesewell

ATS-667 tape. You can buy direct http://www.ats24.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=content.display&contentid=50 or through distribution such as All-Spec. Polyester film with rubber resin adhesive (no silicone) = clean mask lines. Call for a sample.

Carbon/Resin Recharging

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 25 17:56:14 EST 2011 | austinpeterman

We have a SMT600-CL Aqueous Cleaning System. I am under the impression we are overpaying for the recharging service. Currently, we ship the tanks from Texas to California to have the recharging service performed. Is there a company in the Dallas a

Ion Chromatography (IC) qualification

Electronics Forum | Wed Apr 13 09:15:07 EDT 2011 | blnorman

Have used IC for years, but I'm not familiar with that, ROSE maybe. Its a stretch, but maybe R/O/I would be rosin/resin, organic, or inorganic for the type flux being used?

Ink marking under conformal coating

Electronics Forum | Wed Jul 18 08:44:20 EDT 2012 | leeg

We use the Edding pen as stated but then apply a quick set epoxy resin over the top and allow to dry, this does work.

Ink marking under conformal coating

Electronics Forum | Wed Jul 18 08:48:26 EDT 2012 | mccabekev

How are you applying the expoxy resin? Why use the expensive pen edding aerospace pen under the epoxy when a cheaper pen will do?

Cleaning old built up flux residues from reflow oven

Electronics Forum | Fri Apr 11 13:58:32 EDT 2014 | proy

Have an older reflow oven which I need to clean up collected flux residues from the chain, mesh, intake/exhaust areas, slides etc heavy brown dust, likely water soluble residues, lots of polymerized brown resin as well.
