Hi MGL, Couple things to ask, have the boards recently been changed to Rohs builds? STD FR4 to High TD Laminate. Check the stack-up the board houses are using. Just about all Rohs laminate has Resin starvation issues when used in single ply co

Good Morning, I have seen many posts regarding BGA voiding being excessive and what can be done to better the condition. I have a customer that has an assembly that we have had a diufficult time with. We have spent a lot of time debugging the proces

Has any one considered the melting eutectic of the plated part verses the eutectic of the paste it self. Inter metallic solids can form when mixing metals. Thus this causes solder joint reliability. Also a lot of vendors are putting out pure tin prod

Welcome to RoHS. Or, at least, to the version of RoHS that I've had to deal with since I started with my current company. Blowholes and pinholes seem to be common in PB-free manufacturing. At least, they have for me here. I also note that IPC has

I think they need to go after the real lead contaminants. PCB/electronic waste accounts for .01% of lead waste based upon my last info I rec'd. So this lead free agenda is really going to help alot isn't it. I believe that most of the lead contami

I agree that something has to be done with the lead waste but I believe that a recycling program is a better alternative to lead-free. Isn't silver more toxic? How about the venting of alternate alloy fumes, let alone the effects on operators. I say
